Meet our pastor and his wife, Brett and Linda Hilgemann

Get to know our Pastors:

Brett & Linda have been in ministry for 37 years, 15 of that in youth ministry and 6 as camp directors. They have worked in the Sacramento and Los Angeles CA areas, ND and now in Rapid City, SD. Both grew up in SD and are very happy to be back home serving the Lord. Brett loves riding motorcycles, Martial Arts, fishing, hunting, and reading. Linda loves riding motorcycles, coffee dates with friends, and travel.

Brett & Linda love being at Freedom Church, they say that even if they weren’t the pastors, it’s a place they’d attend.

Lead Pastor Brett Hilgemann:

I accepted the Lord at the age of 9 and rededicated myself to the Lord and to His ministry at the age of 21. I have been the pastor of Freedom Motorcycle Church since 2016.  Before that, I was a youth leader for 15 years, Camp director for 6 years, started a church in Sacramento, Ca and pastored it for 16 years and have filled the pulpit at various churches over the years and  My ministry passions are studying and teaching the Word of God, training people to be lay pastors and pastors, developing leaders, connecting with people and hearing their stories and watching people come to Christ and starting their journey with Him.   My hobbies include teaching martial arts (I am a 5th degree black belt in Shorin Ryu Karate and a 2nd degree black belt in Filipino Escrima). I also enjoy playing drums, riding motorcycle, hunting & fishing. 

Assistant Pastor Linda Hilgemann:

I came to know the Lord at Vacation Bible School when I was 8 years old. I’ll never forget when the VBS teacher told me that Jesus loved me and He wanted to have a personal relationship with me.  At 13 years old I went to a Christian boarding school in South Dakota and it was there that my love for Jesus was solidified.  I couldn’t get enough of learning about Jesus.  I then went on to Grace College of the Bible in Omaha, Neb and got a degree in Camping/recreation with a minor in Education. My ministry passions are seeing women & children set free from the lies of the enemy, teaching children about Jesus, running an annual Vacation Bible School program, organize events for young girls and women, oversee the church Bible Studies and encouraging people in their walk with Jesus.  I love to ride motorcycle, travel, laugh, have coffee dates, meet new people, play games (especially dominoes & Phase 10), put puzzles together, and spend time with family and friends.

Statement of faith

  • We believe the Bible is God’s written word, uniquely inspired by the Holy Spirit. It bears unerring witness to Jesus Christ, the Living Word. The Bible has authority over all human life. 
  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. 
  • We believe in the deity of our lord Jesus Christ, in his virgin birth, in his sinless life, in his miracles, in his vicarious and atoning death through his shed blood, in his bodily resurrection, in his ascension to the right hand of the Father and in his personal return in power and glory. 
  • We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. 
  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life. 
  • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. 
  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Every one is a loving family no matter if you are a member or a visitor. The messages are real and not made up. I learn something new all the time. I love they have children's church as well. The pastors, staff and band are awesome. God is an awesome God.

I am a somewhat "honorary" member/visitor... and I like the fellowship, scheduled lunch/rides. The friendly atmosphere as you walk in and are greeted with love. I enjoy getting a deeper knowledge of Jesus and the Word of God along with the music flowing in your heart and soul!
